Report Released from SWF Co-Sponsored Workshop "African Perspectives for Advancing Space Security"

Secure World is pleased to announce he final report from the "African Perspectives for Advancing Space Security through Norms, Rules and Principles of Responsible Behaviours" workshop has been released. The workshop  jointly organized by UNIDIR, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, the Secure World Foundation, and the Kenya Space Agency — broke new ground and highlighted "the importance of considering a bottom-up approach to space governance initiatives that considers the perspectives of nongovernmental entities". Additionally, "it was suggested that a permanent forum for the region be created, perhaps under the auspices of the African Space Agency, to facilitate regular exchange of ideas on issues of space policy, including specifically issues of space security."
