Ian Christensen Discusses Norms and Space Safety at AIAA ASCEND

SWF Director of Private Sector Programs Ian Christesen participated in the AIAA  ASCEND conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Christensen was part of two panels at the conference.  On October 25th he moderated a panel entitled "Advancing National Security Norms in Space" which discussed the path forward for adoption of national security space norms, including the United States' commitment to not conduct destructive, direct-ascent anti-satellite (ASAT) missile testing. On October 26th he spoke as part of the panel session on "The Challenge of Shared Learning of Spaceflight Safety in a Rapidly Growing Space Community." In this session, Mr Christensen shared experience from the CONFERS efforts to develop responsible operations practices and standards for satellite servicing activities.
