SWF Director of Space Applications Program Krystal Wilson participated in GEO Week 2019 in Canberra, Australia. This event showcased successful applications of Earth observations and new technologies in global, regional and local contexts. Tailored sessions focused on how EO can aid decision-makers to address key issues related to disaster risk reduction, climate action, food security, and other other key topics impacting our lives on a daily basis. Secure World Foundation provided a Plenary statement on the importance of space sustainability to Earth observations.

Building on the 2015 Mexico City Declaration, GEO Week focused on accelerating the delivery of GEO’s Strategic Plan and brought the GEO community together to scale-up the impact of Earth observations. To that end, attending Ministers endorsed the Canberra Declaration and the GEO Work Programme.
