Following it's final face-to-face meeting on November 11-12, 2019 in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg the Hague International Space Resources Governance Working Group has adopted and released the Building Blocks for the Development of an International Framework on Space Resource Activities.  The Working Group offers these 20 building blocks to the international community as elements that should be considered in the development of international legal frameworks to enable space resources utilization. The Working Group hopes that its activities will complement other efforts at the national, regional and global level to enable space resource activities.
The final Building Blocks represent the culmination of a four-year work period for the Working Group, which was composed of a multistakeholder and international group of government, industry, and academic experts in international law and in space resources activities. Secure World Foundation was pleased to serve as a Consortium Partner in the operations and activities of the Working Group. SWF's Director of Private Sector Programs, Mr. Ian Christensen; SWF Space Law Advisor, Mr. Chris Johnson; and former SWF Director Dr. Micheal Simpson contributed to the development of the Building Blocks as Members and Observers throughout the tenure of the Working Group.
