Brian Weeden Discusses Space Traffic Management With Future Space Leaders

SWF Technical Advisor Brian Weeden participated in a panel discussion on Space Traffic Management as part of the 2016 Future Space Leaders event, held on July 14th 2016, in Washington, DC. The event brought together professionals and mentors along with students and young professionals to discuss trends in the space sector. Mr. Weeden's panel included Ben Roberts - Assistant Director, Civil and Commercial Space in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Travis Langster - Vice President, Analytical Graphics, Inc.; David Cavossa - President, Space Consulting 2.0; and was moderated by Richard DalBello - Vice President, VirginGalactic.
The panel discussed the current challenges with operating safely and efficiently in the space environment, including the growing amount of physical and radiofrequency congestion, and the current discussions taking place within the U.S. government and the international community on space situational awareness and space traffic management. The panel also discussed the potential for the private sector to contribute capabilities and data to future solutions.
