Earth Day Message From Michael Simpson, SWF Executive Director

Friday, April 22, 2016

For those of us serving in the space sector, Earth Day has special meaning. First, we know that images taken of Earth from space have improved our understanding of our planet's beauty and fragility. Second, we know that knowledge gained from studying our closest planetary neighbors, Venus and Mars have opened our eyes to processes impacting Earth and its climate. As a result of both of these understandings, we have come to feel a greater sense of responsibility to care for our home world and the space that surrounds it. As our Foundation seeks to facilitate cooperative solutions to space sustainability, we invite you to celebrate Earth Day knowing that Earth is part of a cosmic neighborhood on which its health ...and ours...depends.
