Laura Delgado López’ Article on Apogeo Spatial Highlights SWF-supported Capacity Building Workshops

The Summer 2015 issue of Apogeo Spatial includes an article by SWF Project Manager Laura Delgado López on two recent capacity-building workshops supported by SWF in its role as member of the Working Group on Capacity-Building and Data Democracy (WGCapD) of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS). The WGCapD-organized workshops are part of a multi-stakeholder effort to enable the utilization of the highest resolution digital elevation model (DEM) available, recently released by the United States' White House. As noted in "Flood Modeling: Building Capacity With SRTM 30-Meter Dataset," this DEM is particularly useful for flood modeling, the main application area in which the 50 participants from the workshops received hands-on training.
