Laura Delgado López Speaks at Geospatial World Forum

On May 28, 2015, SWF Project Manager Laura Delgado López spoke at the Geospatial Policies session of the Geospatial World Forum held in Lisbon, Portugal on May 25-29, 2015. Her presentation, "Policy Challenges of Smallsats for Earth Observations:  Case Study from the United States," examined the policy questions emerging from the potential role of smallsats as operational platforms in the fields of imaging and weather. Ms. Delgado López described the potential benefits of incorporating this technology to complement existing capabilities and key questions that are being examined by the relevant stakeholders to realize this potential while meeting mission objectives, oversight responsibilities, and other key requirements. She highligted the international dimension of these national-level discussions and drew a number of observations that may be useful as other countries consider similar issues.
