Dr Simpson Keynotes Space Traffic Management Conference

On Thursday, November 6, 2014, SWF Executive Director, Dr. Michael Simpson delivered a keynote address at the inaugural session of Embry Riddle University's Space Traffic Management (STM) Conference.  Noting the many ways in which the STM conference's themes were also being addressed in international discussions of space policy, he stressed that sustainable solutions to STM would require broad coordination between countries and substantial cooperation in implementing agreed processes.  His talk paid special attention to the implications of the Group of Governmental Experts on Transparency and Confidence Building Measures in Outer Space, the draft International Code of Conduct on Outer Space Activities, and the Candidate Guidelines under discussion by the Working Group on the Long Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities.
