Brian Weeden to Testify Before Congress on Space Debris and Space Traffic Management

On Friday, May 9, 2014, SWF Technical Advisor Brian Weeden is scheduled to testify before the Space Subcommittee of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology in a hearing entitled "Space Traffic Management: How to Prevent a Real Life “Gravity”.The hearing will explore the roles of U.S. federal agencies in orbital debris mitigation and space traffic management, the authorities granted to those agencies, and how the Administration plans to coordinate their activities.

The other witness scheulded to be at the hearing are:

  • Lt Gen. John “Jay” Raymond, Commander, 14th Air Force, Air Force Space Command; and Commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command
  • Mr. George Zamka, Deputy Associate Administrator, Office of Commercial Space Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration
  • Mr. Robert Nelson, Chief Engineer, International Bureau, Federal Communications Commission
  • Mr. P.J. Blount, Adjunct Professor, Air and Space Law, University of Mississippi School of Law
