The Brussels Space Policy Round Table - Space Opportunities and Challenges – A view from Poland, the Newest ESA Member State
When: Wednesday, January 30, 2013
Where: Polish Permanent Representation, Rue Stevin 139, 1000 Brussels
On November 16, 2012 Polish President Bronisław Komorowski has signed a law that sees Poland join the European Space Agency as its newest (20th) member. Poland believes that membership in the ESA will enable Polish public institutions, academia and private companies to take part in European space research projects, and thus, become an active actor in the European space arena.
On that occasion the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union together with the Secure World Foundation and in cooperation with the office of Krzysztof Lisek MEP would like to organise an informal panel discussion entitled “Space Opportunities and Challenges – A View from Poland, the Newest ESA Member State.”
The purpose of this panel is to introduce Poland as the new actor to the European space arena and review its capacities, aspirations as well as challenges it may face as the newest ESA member. It will also aim to determine some strategic orientations Poland might have for its space programme.
